Alton “Butch, The Cake Man” Raymond Eaglin Jr. entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, September 11, 2024. Devoted husband of Glenda M. Eaglin; Father of Alton Raymond (Paulette) Eaglin and Kiren D. Legging-Eaglin; Son of the late Alton and Joyce Lee Eaglin; Brother of Kevin (Sandra) Eaglin and the late Joyce M. Eaglin Leggins; Son-in-law of Albertha Johnson and the late Edward Lee Leggins; Brother-in-law of Elizabeth (Steve) Richards, Brenda Leggins Cyres, James (Edith) Leggins, Frederick Leggins, the late Herman and Bertha Leggins Alexander; Grandson of the late Olivia Robinson Lee-Herron and Rosilia Eaglin; Nephew of Dale Herron; also survived by three grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Alton, The Cake Man, known for Olivia’s Seven Up Cakes, was an Ordained Deacon at First Shiloh M.B.C. He was a former employee of the City of New Orleans Sanitation Department, Mercy and Ochsner Baptist Hospital Security. Relatives and friends of the family, also Pastors, officers and members of First Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, all neighboring churches and the Louisiana Freedman Missionary Baptist Association are invited to attend The Celebration of Life on Saturday, September 21, 2024 beginning 10:00 a.m. at First Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 2507 Perdido Street, Pastor Antoine R.
