Carry Ann Payton

Minister Carry Ann Batiste Payton passed peacefully at her home on Sunday, April 13, 2025, surrounded by her family. She is survived by sons, Elvia III, Johnell, Germain and Anthony, Payton; grandchildren, JaWanda, Elvia IV, Germisha, Phoenix and Gavin Payton; three sisters, Ethel Williams, Rosemary (Darryl) Brown and Betty Jack; brother, Alfred George. She also leaves her best friend, sister-in-law and sister in Christ, Saundrea Jackson-Payton; brothers and sisters-in-law; Reginald, Eugene, Aaron, Darryl (Debbie), Kevin (Denise), Stevie (Dione), Romell (Joy), Belinda, Glinda and Yolanda Payton; aunts, Mable Randolph and Madge Power; Also survived by nine great grandchildren, a host of uncles, nieces, nephews. cousins, extended family, church family and friends. Minister Payton is preceded in death by her parents, Ethel George and Joseph Batiste; husband, Elvia Payton Jr.; mother and father-in-law, Martha and Elvia Payton Sr.; daughter, Shirley Payton; granddaughter, Eraniesha Payton; brothers-in-law, Sol Williams, Andrew Payton Sr. and Vernell Payton Sr. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of New Orleans Bible Fellowship Baptist Church, Good News Baptist Church and Mount Salem Baptist Church; employees of Xavier University, Payton Hodges Law Firm and Studio 7 Tax Service LLC are invited to attend the Celebration of Life on Friday, April 25, 2025 beginning 10:00 a.m. at New Orleans Bible Fellowship Baptist Church, 4430 Bundy Road, Pastor Leonard M.
