John Ross Sr.

John Wilson Ross Sr., a lifelong resident of New Orleans, Louisiana, passed away on November 30, 2024 at 7:12 pm. Born on September 26, 1947, he was the beloved son of the late Evelyn Butler Thomas and Claude Ross. John accepted Christ at an early age at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, where his faith guided him throughout his life. He was a talented musician, sharing his passion for music with family and friends. He was also a dedicated contractor who contributed to the vibrant community of New Orleans. He was a devoted father, leaving behind ex wife Vanessa Ross, his children with Juley Allen: John W. Ross Jr., Jacqueline Marie Griffin and Julius T. Ross. Companion Gayle Barra. Also father of Louis Daniels, Mitchell Colbert, Janine Brown, Sean Forest, Zotton Johnson and Marlone Green. He was a proud grandfather to 23 grandchildren and a cherished great grandfather to 20 great grandchildren. John is also remembered by his daughters-in-law Patrice L. Ross and Measa Gegzxiabher. He leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly. John's legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He will be remembered for his kindness, strength, and the joy he brought to his family lives. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service on Friday, December 13, 2024 at Littlejohn Funeral Home, 2163 Aubry Street beginning at 10 am.
