Lester Vallet Sr., retired grounds superintendent for the New Orleans Saints, died on Friday, June 28, 2024. He was 101 years of age, a native of Baton Rouge and a U.S. Army Veteran. Relatives and friends of the family, also priests and parishioners of Corpus Christi Epiphany Catholic Church are invited to the church visitation on Friday, July 12, 2024 at 8:00 a.m. until the Recitation of the Rosary at 9:15 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m. with his nephew, The Most Reverend Shelton J. Fabre, Archbishop of Louisville, celebrant. Burial with Military Honors in Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, 34888 Grantham College Road, Slidell, Louisiana. He is survived by his son, Lester Vallet Jr. (Trenell), one sister, Ruth Vallet Fabre, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Vallet, parents, Phillip and Flora Decuir Vallet, one grandchild, Lester Vallet III, three sisters, Mary Gammon, Ruby Brunious, Theresa Fabre and one brother, Phillip Vallet Jr. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Corpus Christi Epiphany Church or favorite charity.
