Troy Laderial Ard was called home on Monday, July 31, 2023. He was born July 11, 1974 in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was one of two children to Nadine Ard Boudouin and the late James Ard. He was raised in a Christian home and baptized at an early age at Bethel A.M.E. Church. He served as a child in YPD, Boy Scouts, Sunday School and also served at Cummings Wilson Church in the Male Chorus and Son’s of Allen. Troy attended Lawless Elementary and graduated from Lawless Senior High School. He worked for Pratt Trucking Company for many years. He was preceded in death by the late James Ard, John L. Patton, and Leona Flowers Townsend, Ethel Ard, James Ard, Lucille Flowers Allen and Wilbert Flowers. He leaves to cherish his memory his mother Nadine Ard Boudouin, sister Elinda Caprice Ard and two sons Durrel McCormick and Troy LaDerial Ard Jr., step brother and sisters Jermaine Alexander Ard (Mel), Latoya Marie Cayette (Edwin), Chanel Lee Dero Ard, Johnathan McGuinnis, Jeanique Shawan McGuinnis, nephew of John L. Patton (Shelly), Louis E. Patton (Lynell), Carol P. Mercadel (Alonzo), Darlene P. Butler, Zilda P. MacLaughin (Donald), Leon K. Patton (Amanda), Lionel and Horace Ard, Patricia Ard Mitchell and the late Kermit Shaw, and a girlfriend Nikita Newell, good friends Andrea Bently and Cory Green and godchild Chi Patton. Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends, also pastor, officers and members of Cummings-Wilson A.M.E. Church are invited to attend the funeral service on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Cummings-Wilson A.M.E. Church, 11001 Chef Menteur Highway, beginning 10am. Rev. Kenneth J. Harrell, pastor officiating. Church visitation 9am until service time. Interment Resthaven Memorial Park.
